European Antiques is known as a well established and highly regarded Auckland based antiques dealer. In 2018 they decided to move from their outdated website to a modern fresh look to attract more sales.

It can be a struggle for many entrepreneurs to find the time to sit down and sort out that elephant in the room – the digital marketplace known as “Your Website”.

This was no exception for Meredith from European Antiques who contacted us with a goal in mind to showcase the hundreds of exquisite antiques she has on offer.

The challenge wasn’t simply slapping on a new coat of paint but to design a fresh upmarket website from the ground up that not only matched Meredith’s expectation but exceeded it. The key functionality of the new website needed to include:

  • Better customer experience and engagement
  • Improved product gallery with zoom function on images
  • An up to date platform for enquiries
  • The opportunity for adding-on online shopping in the future
  • Easy to use backend editing functionality

The process to reach this goal included providing key mockup visuals to Meredith before actually coding the changes which saved time and money. Meetings in person, through skype, and over the phone were streamline and effective to working out how to overcome the challenges along the way.

The results through Google Analytics and Hotjar heatmaps showed us a clear takeaway – that customers were spending more time engaging in products, cycling through images, and sharing on social media. Success!
